Hot Baked Apple with Cashew Orange Sauce

At least here in Germany, they are.

We serve baked apples many times in the winter season.

If you are craving a sweet treat around Christmas, this should be on your list.

It is healthy, without any additional sugar, but still satisfying.

These baked apples will bring you a warm dessert on the table that you cannot resist.

Fresh from the oven, they will make your house smell like Christmas.

Hot baked apple with cashew orange sauce

  • 4 large apples

  • for the filling

  • a handful of chopped dates
  • 1 small piece of grated ginger
  • a handful of almonds
  • a handful of cashews
  • a handful of raisins
  • a handful of walnuts
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • some coconut oil
  • juice of half an orange (freshly squeezed)

  • for the orange cashew sauce

  • 50g cashews
  • 50ml orange juice (freshly squeezed)


  1. Cut out the cores of the apples. (try to scoop it a little more with a small spoon)
  2. Place the dates, walnuts, cashews and almonds in a pan and fry them in a little coconut oil for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add raisins, ginger, cinnamon and orange juice and fill the mixture in the apples.
  4. Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes at 170 degrees.


  1. For the sauce, grind the cashews and mix in the orange juice.
  2. Cover the hot baked apples with the cashew sauce and serve right away.


Top your apples with goji berries for an eye - catcher.
