With Momentum into the Day and into the New Year

With Momentum into the Day and into the New Year

Welcome to the year 2017!

I know, I'm a little late but better late than never :).

I hope you had a fresh and happy start into the new year.

And, how were the first two weeks for you?

Did you come up with a bunch of some good intentions?

Or maybe you are like me and don't wait for a specific date to get started and want to do everything rather sooner than late?

Anyway, in case you thought of some good resolutions, I hope you're still sticking to it and didn't fall back into old bad habits.

At least, if we are to believe the statistics, almost all the good plans vanish into thin air within the first four weeks of the new year.

I don't want to eat sugar anymore, I don't buy junk food anymore, I want to exercise daily and and and...

Are you familiar with that?

But good intentions alone are not the key to success.

So, why do we have to wait for a new year to start acting?
We do not need to postpone everything to tomorrow.

Who knows what tomorrow brings?

Don't we all want to feel good right away?

Eating healthier and doing more sports are probably the two health related things most people struggle with.

Actually, it is a pity, because without good food we cannot really extend our full energy.

That's why we should always remind ourselves, that food is our resource of power ( 'we are, what we eat'), as the fuel is for the car.

If you use the wrong type, it will damage the engine sooner or later.

Exactly the same thing happens with us humans, if we nourish our body with unhealthy food all the time.

Therefore, I would like to inspire you a little and show you how I start into my day.

The mornings are my most productive time of the day.

I prefer to get up very early to prepare a healthy and powerful breakfast.

In today's recipe, you will find my current favorite breakfast - a mix of buckwheat, avocado, bananas and a few seeds.

Starting the day like this really gives me power, strength and concentration for the work which has to be done.

I love the combination of buckwheat, banana and avocado.
For me, buckwheat is an awesome all-rounder in the kitchen.

I use it daily for breakfast, for smoothies, as dessert and also for other recipe experiments.
I always have a bowl of soaked buckwheat on the kitchen counter.

Buckwheat sprouts are full of important minerals and antioxidants, such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium and a lot of lysine, just to name a few.

In addition, I love the nutty flavor.
Dehydrated buckwheat sprouts also add this nice crunchy effect to your meals.

Sprouting buckwheat is one of the easiest things to do.
Just put it in a bowl, soak it in water for a few hours, rinse it properly and wait. (you don't have to wait right next to it :) )
Already after a day the sprouts start to come out.

Did I mention already that I also love avocados?
I could literally live from it :).

They contain very healthy fats and on top - they taste sooo good.
In winter, we eat a lot of avocados, for then they are in season.

I'm so happy that we finally found a supplier who ships the best avocados I ever had.
In case you want to check it out, you can do so here.

After this delicious breakfast and a freshly squeezed juice, I'm full of energy.
Yeah, and without my green juice, I do not like to go out of the house anymore.
Once I started with it almost two years ago, I couldn't stop it anymore.

Unfortunately, today we are hardly able to eat the recommended quantity of vegetables and fruits.
Therefore, green juices and smoothies are a wonderful way to provide the body with the vitamins and minerals it needs.

Of course, not only the food is important, but also regular sporting activities and our own inner peace.

So celebrate every new day like a new year, remember your resolutions, the joy of life and, of course, your health.

"Health isn't everything, but everything is nothing without health." (Arthur Schopenhauer)

I wish you a year of joy, mindfulness and serenity.
Be grateful for every day you are given here on our wonderful planet earth.

I hope I could inspire you with my present recipe to start healthy in a new year.

The new year will give you what you make of it!

In this sense, make 2017 your year, rejoice and give your body the respect it deserves!

Let's start with good deeds, more then in the next blog post!

I hope you enjoy this breakfast bowl as much as I do!

Yours in healthy eating!

Jana

Powerful Breakfast Bowl

Powerful Breakfast Bowl
  • Author: go-healthy
  • Posted on: Jan. 16, 2017
  • Category: Raw food
  • Type: Raw food
  • Preparation time: 0:10:00
  • Servings: 1-2

Ingredients:

Time does not include the soaking time for the buckwheat

  • for the breakfast bowl

  • 100 sprouted buckwheat (depending on how hungry you are, this may be enough for several servings)

  • 2 tablespoons of dried buckwheat sprouts (optional - but adds a nice crunchiness) (I always soak a larger amount of buckwheat and dehydrate a part of the shoots - either in the dehydrator or on the heating)

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate
  • 1 tbsp mulberries
  • 2 tbsp mixed seeds (sunflower seeds, flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds)
  • 1 EL Tahin

  • for the green juice

  • 2 stalks of celery

  • 1 apple
  • 1-2 kale leaves
  • half a cucumber
  • half a lemon

Instructions:

  1. Soak the buckwheat for at least two hours, preferably overnight.
The next morning rinse it thoroughly! in a strainer.
You can either use the soft buckwheat now or you give it one more day to develop into small shoots.
Therefore, just rinse it well in the morning and in the evening by placing it in a sieve, rinsing thoroughly with cold water, draining it and then putting it back into the bowl.
  2. In the morning, add the other ingredients to your bowl and enjoy your delicious breakfast.
  3. For the juice, add all the ingredients to your juicer and enjoy the freshness of pure vitamins.

Notes:

You can also take the breakfast as a snack on the go.
Simply fill everything in a glass and enjoy!
No excuses anymore to buy a fatty takeaway :)

The dried buckwheat sprouts can be made in stock in a larger quantity - put them into a nice Mason jar and thus - ready you are.

Mix all the seeds in advance and also store them in a glass.
